This piece was originally part of a Rātā tree. Its shape reminded Brian of something slightly other-worldly, which is how it got its name.

This piece is made from Mataī hardwood, with the timber estimated to be around 200 years old. After falling, it spent more than 20 years on the beach being shaped by the elements.

This piece is made from two separate driftwood forms that naturally worked together - but they can also be displayed separately.


Goat
1,500mm long
Rātā wood with deep dark red tones. Estimated age of timber 200–300 years, with around 20–30 years of beach wear.


Baby Mammoth
1,100mm x 500mm
Miro wood. Estimated age of timber around 150 years, with 10+ years on the beach.

Black Lizard

Black Lizard

This piece formed naturally from a section of Mataī, a very dense New Zealand hardwood. Estimated age of the timber is 300+ years, with more than 10 years of wear from a shingle beach, which has shaped its surface and form.


The sculpture can be leg mounted or displayed free standing.

Formed from Rimu wood, estimated to be around 300 years old. The piece spent more than 20 years on the beach, where wind and sand have shaped its surface and natural form.

Head

Formed from Rimu hardwood. The timber is estimated to be over 300 years old and has had decades of beach wear, which has shaped its surface and character.


The piece can be mounted to suit any preferred angle.

Swan

Weathered and shaped by more than a decade of beach exposure, giving the surface a naturally smooth, organic finish and deep character.


The graceful form suggests the quiet elegance of a swan in motion. The sculpture can be displayed free-mounted or rock balanced, allowing the piece to be positioned in a variety of ways while revealing different perspectives of its flowing shape.

Totara

Estimated age of Totara hardwood: 400+ years


Cut from a tōtara tree that had been embedded in beach sand for more than 30 years. The long exposure to sand and sea has created an exceptionally smooth surface and rich natural finish.


An extremely rare piece and one of Brian’s favourites.
